About Limerick Webcraft Academy
We are a practical training studio founded in Limerick to help Irish freelancers and agencies build confident, job-ready web design and development skills. Our first year is focused on building strong, reliable learning pathways grounded in real-world outcomes.
Mission and learning philosophy
We believe in a studio approach where learning is driven by authentic deliverables. Our mission is to create a reliable pipeline of web designers and developers who can confidently manage projects from discovery to launch. This includes practical planning, content strategy, interface design, and code implementation.
Rather than focusing on theory-heavy teaching, we connect each lesson to a project milestone. This makes learning relevant and ensures participants leave with work that speaks clearly to employers and clients.
Realistic project briefs
Briefs are structured around typical Irish agency work, including local compliance and content standards.
Studio discipline
We teach file organisation, naming conventions, and handover practice to reduce delivery friction.
Feedback culture
Participants receive critique framed around usability, clarity, and business goals.
Our location and facilities
Based in The Engine Hub on Cecil Street, we are close to Limerick’s city centre and accessible by bus, cycle routes, and nearby parking. The studio includes collaborative tables, presentation screens, and quiet spaces for focused work.
The environment mirrors a professional workspace, helping participants get comfortable with the pace and expectations of client work.
Tools and industry workflow
We focus on professional tools that agencies use daily: Figma for design, Git for version control, and structured HTML/CSS/JavaScript for front-end delivery. For content management, WordPress builds are covered in the implementation stream.
Every cohort includes a handover package: style guide, component list, and deployment checklist.
Community and collaboration
We are committed to building a supportive, professional community. Participants are encouraged to collaborate on project critique, usability checks, and documentation reviews. This builds confidence in presenting work and responding to feedback, crucial for client-facing roles.
As a young academy, we continuously refine our curriculum based on emerging standards and local industry needs.
